Welcome to St. Anthony’s Hr. Sec. School, Shillong, which educates young minds in Don Bosco’s way to become honest citizens and successful human beings. We faithfully continue the tradition established by Don Bosco, based on Reason, Religion and Loving Kindness.
The theme of the Year is “the Joy of Giving”, therefore I would encourage everyone to love - giving joyfully without counting the cost of giving. Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. 2 Cor. 9:7
“It’s not how much we give but how much love we put into giving. Give your hands to serve and your hearts to love. People are always unreasonable and self- centered- forgive them anyway. If you are kind, people may accuse you of ulterior motives - Be kind anyway. If you are honest, people may cheat you- be honest anyway. If you find happiness, people may be jealous- be happy anyway. The good you do today may be forgotten tomorrow – do good anyway. Give the world the best you have and it may never be enough- give your best anyway. For you see in the end, it is between you and God. It was never between you and them.” St. Teresa of Calcutta.
At the end of our life we will not be judged by how many diplomas we have received how much money we have made, how many great things we have done. We will be judged by, “I was hungry, and you gave me something to eat, I was naked and you clothed me, I was homeless, and you took me in.”
God has given to us everything that we need and why He has given – because He loves us so much!
The wicked borrows but does not pay back, but the righteous is generous and gives; Psalm 37:21 ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’ Acts 20:35. Set your heart on doing good. Do it over and over again, and you will be filled with joy. Our priority is our duty and hence there should be no compromise. The spirit of Don Bosco is being carried out by each one of us. Let there be love among us. Let’s enjoy giving our helping hand in shaping the characters of our students.
